On April 30, we published Zinkia’s annual report for 2011. While I don’t want to provide a complete analysis of our figures, I would like to pick out some data worth highlighting because they demonstrate that, as we have always insisted, our project has a really promising future.
Read MoreYou already know that, at Zinkia, we never stop working to try to surprise you with something new, every day. To that end, Pocoyo has a new website, as from today, that is even more fun and intuitive, and which children will love. Plenty of games and educational activities, lots of videos, and the official Pocoyo store are just some of the many surprises you’ll find added to the site, daily. Oh, and there are competitions, too. Take a look today!
Read MoreAlthough Pocoyo was conceived as a TV series, most people are aware it soon became a multiplatform entertainment brand. A good example of this is the launch of ‘Talking Pocoyo’, an iPhone application that I’m sure will reach even more people. In fact, just a few hours after its launch, it has proven so successful that it is already among the top-ranked downloads.
‘Odd’, maybe, but uncommonly committed, too, as Pocoyo and Pepe Reina, Spain’s international soccer goalkeeper, have both pledged their support for the Drops for Niger campaign, a UNICEF Spain initiative which is part of the the Enrédate (Connect Yourself) educational program, that aims to teach young children the importance of responsibly using that most precious and valuable of resources: water.

Having said that, I have to admit that I’ve traveled quite a lot to a few different places and English has always been my first choice. Learning English early in life has helped enormously with the rest of it.
Read MoreThe Spanish weekly newspaper, El Nuevo Lunes (Another Monday), celebrated its 31st anniversary a few days ago. To commemorate this, they published a special edition, looking at the future of our country from different economic perspectives. Here are my comments
Read MoreAs you know, Pocoyo is committed to protecting the environment and always promotes respect for nature. Because of this, since 2009 he has been collaborating with ‘Earth Hour’, a WWF initiative. This year, for the second year running, he’s ‘Earth Hour’s’ Global Children’s Ambassador.
A few days ago, I was in New York representing Zinkia at the Kidscreen Summit, one of the biggest in the entertainment and animation field worldwide. While there, I noted again one of the tendencies we identified some time ago: the multiplatform nature of the content sector.
Read MoreLast Wednesday, Pocoyo visited Madrid’s La Paz Hospital and spent a fun day with the children who are being treated there. The reason for his visit was because February 15 is ‘International Childhood Cancer Day’, and he wanted to give the kids a break from their routines and help them enjoy musical activities, drawing workshops, and lots of other surprises.
